Erophylla sezekorni syops Buffy Flower Bat Pollen-eater Very Rare Cayman Brac, Grand Cayman, Jamaica
Buffy Flower Bat (Erophylla sezekorni) eats pollen, nectar and occasionally small insects. It lives only in Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. It has a long nose and a long sticky tongue. This amazing little bat pollinates night-blooming jasmine and all the beautiful column cactus and agave plants that grow on the Bluff on Cayman Brac. These bats live only in caves and are known to be highly intolerant of human disturbance, thus should never be disturbed in their caves.
